The Camel Cup, held every year in Alice Springs, is undoubtedly one of the Northern Territory's quirkiest events. While camels may have a reputation as dedicated 'ships of the desert' these beasts are certainly not short on personality. Racing them can prove a nightmare for riders and handlers but fantastic and hilarious viewing for spectators. The Camel Cup is one of the NT’s vibrant festivals and unique cultural events that make up Festival Territory.
